STATEWIDE STOP WORK AUGUST 13, 2015 WAS SUSPENDED
In order for preschools to offer quality programs, they need funding to employ and retain qualified, dedicated and experienced educators. There is a huge gap between teachers working in Early Childhood compared to those in Primary schools, yet the workload and qualifications are the same.
Earlier this term, Early Childhood teachers and co-educators advised employers and parents of the decision to take industrial action with a 24 hour state wide stop work on August 13, 2015.
Taking stop work action is not done lightly and we appreciate the impact on children and families. We acknowledge the strong support our employer (The Committee of Management) and parents have given to our educators in their endeavour to seek a resolution to this dispute. There has been progress on these matters, and whilst there is much to be done to finalise an agreement, we are confident that with ongoing goodwill and good faith bargaining by all parties, this will be achieved soon.
We are confident that you like us, welcome the resolution of this long running dispute.
