*Please note: Exact start date for Bush Kinder for Joeys Group will be determined in Term 2, depending on how the group has settled.
2024 FEES
Free Three Old Kinder will be available across Victoria at participating services in 2024. Free kinder means more Victorian children can have the best start in life, no matter where they live:
- For three-year-olds, this means from 5 and up to 15 hours per week of a kindergarten program
Participating kindergarten programs will receive funding directly from the Victorian Government, so families are not out of pocket (and don’t have to claim the savings back).
PROGRAM
Upon arrival, the children wash their hands and organise their personal belongings in their allocated lockers. Staff greet and informally chat to the children and parents while the rest of the families arrive. Once all children have arrived, the lead educator will outline the activities on offer for the day and children are free to choose what they would like to participate in. They are also encouraged to share stories, experiences or events to their peers throughout the day.
The co-ordination of routines are flexible to the specific needs of the children, weather, special occasions or visitors. Each session consists of free indoor and outdoor play experiences, which are designed to develop all areas of development (language, social/emotional, cognitive, fine motor and gross motor). Each session also involves specific and small group times such as story time, dance, music and drama.
Parents can play a major role in the program development by keeping the teachers and assistants informed of children’s current interests. This will enable teachers to plan for the individual child’s learning experience and development.
